Why Do They Call It the Blues??
A prisoner of the musical tastes of the carpool driver, I had a chance to listen closely to the lyrics of Elton John's "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues". Bizarrely, he doesn't actually explain at all why the color blue is involved.

I was once in the same situation. I was forced to listen to "Love FM" or the smooth jazz station. He apparently wondered why I always fell asleep on the way to work.

tells me that The Blues get their name from the use of Blue Notes which are named that because ... they're used in The Blues.
